Kate Vinen

Kate Vinen is an award-winning writer/director based in Sydney, Australia. Kate has written, directed and produced across multiple platforms. Her short film ‘Acts for the Invisible’ (2021) premiered at Sydney Film Festival and has since had a successful national and international run. Her recent film, ‘Mitayero’ (Hunter), was made during the prestigious PlayLab Films Director’s Lab mentored by Palme d’Or winning director Apichatpong Weerasethakul in the Amazon Jungle. Kate completed a Graduate Certificate in Directing at AFTRS (2010), and a Masters of Documentary Directing at AFTRS (2018-2020). She teaches film at Australian Film Television & Radio School and Macquarie University.
