Rae Choi

Rae Choi is a filmmaker and lawyer, based in Meanjin (Brisbane, Australia). As a producer, her films span short and long form including an independent feature film shot on 16mm in Australia, Italy and France. Venturing into writing and directing, Rae is compelled to make nuanced, culturally specific work through a personally intimate lens. Her directorial debut short, ‘When The Sky Was Blue’ (2021), was nominated for an Australian Writers’ Guild Award, and a finalist at the Screen Producers Australia Awards after screening at various festivals including Asian American International Film Festival and Chicago International Children’s Film Festival.
