Robert Alcock

Robert Alcock is an indipendent filmmaker based in Tasmainia. His previous work includes 2 x AFTRS short films theatrical release 1985 (GU Cinemas) Broadcasting produced/directed 3 x SBS documentaries (National reviews 1986 - 1990). Mentor Mike Rubbo (Waiting For Fidel) Film training with Ulla Ryghe (Ingmar Bergmans editor ‘Persona’ - workshops with Mike Leigh (Secrets & Lies) Russian cinema’s Tarkovsky (Stalker) inspired feature produced 1993 "You Can’t Push The River" (Screen Australia) art-house experiment: screened Mannheim, Dublin & Brisbane. Newcastle University (1995-1999) tutor-hands-on instructor BA Art & Communications media courses. 1997-98 Director - OPEN CITY (low-budget fest with guest US Producer Roger Corman).
