With no training, Azita Damandan started making short films in Iran and later in Australia. She worked as a first assistant director in films and TV series with some of Iran’s best-known directors, including double Oscar award winner Asghar Farhadi. Azita was the subject of an Italian TV mini-documentary by Carlo Damasco, before leaving Iran with her family and crossing the world to Australia. In Australia she had to start from scratch, so far she has made four short films, has a feature film titled “Mourners” and a documentary web series titled “Break a leg Charlie, talk!” in post production.
