¡Luchando! Cuba's Struggle To Survive
'Luchando!' literally means fighting or struggling, but for Cubans today it has taken on a special meaning: the word is used to describe the ever tougher daily battle for survival, as well as the more subtle fight to retain a sense of national identity. This powerful film captures the current mood of a country under siege. What emerges is a sense of the country's remarkably resilient spirit, as expressed in passionate works of theatre, music, dance and film, as well as in the voices of the people in the streets, and of those striving to construct a future for the country.
