Plane Torque
A traveller recounts her fruitless attempts over two weeks to leave a war-torn tropical city and return to her home in Australia. A casual acquaintance, a young doctor, escorts her endlessly back and forth between the airport and his seventeenth-floor walk-up apartment in the city. The director of operations at the airport, like all good officials, really wants to help, when the price is right.
