Russell has been writing, producing and directing film & Television for twenty five years. His first film ‘Fungimentary, The Magic Mushrooms Of Balingup’, aired on SBStv in 1996. Since then he has made over sixty hours of television including the AACTA award winning documentary series ‘Search for Warriors’, the AACTA nominated documentary, ‘The Man Who Jumped’ and a blockbuster telemovie ‘The Great Mint Swindle’. Russell produced, wrote and directed the four part factual series ‘Shaun Micallef’s Stairway to Heaven’ and directed the ‘blue chip’ dramatised documentary ‘The Waler: Australia’s Great War Horse’. Most recently, Russell directed his first, large-screen-180 degree-full dome, theatrical documentary ‘Ningaloo’ - an immersive, underwater exploration of the longest fringing reef in the world.
