Gabriel returns to Sydney from London for the funeral of Rachel, his ex-wife, who committed suicide. There he stays with Mary, his ex-wife's childhood friend. The film deals with the effect the death has on them both, their attempts to deal with the loss and the confrontations each are faced with.
