Melissa, 21 and Nicki, 35 will die without a transplant. Melissa has already waited two years and 32 days. The right donor lungs may not come in time. She doesn't think she will make her next birthday. Nicki, her heart and lungs damaged beyond repair by thalidomide, has defied early death since she was six. Nicki decides to take her destiny in her own hands. She will decide when and if to have the transplant. Should she go on the waiting list? Has she already left it too late? Will her gamble pay off? Nicki must decide.
