The Screen Guide

A dramatised documentary about a Kimberley Aboriginal woman who, as a child of three, was taken away from her mother and placed in an orphanage in Broome. As a 60-year-old woman, she talks about the things she lost as a stolen child - language, culture and country. Her relationship with her son and retracing her mother's grave in Derby, finding it and being saddened by the find. The tracing of her family in Yilyili community, the heartbreak and the excitement of the stories and visiting her birthplace for the first time in the bush, is part of the 'Peeping' journey. PEEPING THRU THE LOUVRES highlights the humbleness of Aboriginal Australia, the compassion, the love and calling for family and its role in Aboriginal Australia.
