The Screen Guide

Khaled is an Iraqi-born Dutch-raised refugee whose personal traumas are exacerbated by a punitive immigration detention regime in Australia. Broken and without hope, Khaled waives his right to asylum in Australia and is returned to a warzone in Iraq where he begins the arduous journey back to Holland. With the love and support of Leon, a refugee volunteer he meets in Greece, Khaled manages to hang onto his sense of self and the dream of a free and peaceful future.
