The Screen Guide

Karl is a cheerful and endearing 8-year-old, in spite of being terminally ill with a rare neuromuscular disease. Although Karl's speech and walking are affected his single mother Judy tries to give him a normal life. Karl befriends an elderly man called Jack who, once he has broken through Judy's mistrust, becomes an important part of their lives. Jack too is ill, and through Karl's example he learns how to face death.
