The Screen Guide

Examines the experiences of female practitioners of witchcraft in 20th century Australia. It contrasts the commonly held, negative view of the witch with a picture of Wicca and the related arts as an earthed and dynamic spiritual system. The soundtrack consists entirely of voiceover dialogue from witches and their antagonists. The filmmakers use various found objects, archival material and constructed images to illustrate their reactions to the different ideas contained in the voiceover in a vibrant, irreverent, frequently tangental and unashamedly subjective way.
