A BIRD IN THE HAND is a documentary which examines the legal and illegal trade in parrots around the world. It looks at the world of these exotic and beautiful birds and the people associated with them - the collectors, the breeders, the traders and the law enforcement officers - all with their particular obsessions. Through these obsessions we gain insight into the fascinating world of birds.
