Eric Deeral (14 December 1932 - 5 September 2012) was an Australian politician who was the second Australian Aboriginal elected to an Australian parliament and the first to a state parliament. He was the Member for Cook from the 7th December 7974 to 12th November 1977, serving one term before being defeated at the next election. In 2012, Queensland's Indigenous Youth Parliament was renamed the Eric Deeral Indigenous Youth Parliament in Deeral's honour. He died later that year. This is his story.
