The Screen Guide

The shearers' strike of 1891, although little known to most Australians, brought Australia to the brink of civil war, and as a rebellion it stands alongside the Eureka Stockade. In the small town of Barcaldine, in the central west of Queensland, the people planned and performed a reenactment of the strike, with the assistance of the Department of the Arts, National Parks and Sport.
