The Screen Guide

A history of France, in relation to the 1980 art exhibition entitled 'The Revolutionary Decades', for which works from the Louvre and other French museums were brought to Australia under the auspices of the Australian Gallery Directors Council. French actress Leslie Caron presents the story of the turbulent decades which saw France change from a monarchy to a republic, spanning 60 years from the dying days of the court of Versailles, through the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789 and the rise and fall of Napoleon, to the restoration of a weakened Bourbon monarchy.
