The Screen Guide

A brief history of comedy in Australian films, from Ken G. Hall's classic 'Dad and Dave' series to Crocodile Dundee. The program examines the way in which Australian humour has developed through films and the move away from stereotypes. Those taking part are pioneer producer/director Ken G. Hall; writer/actor John Clarke (Fred Dagg); producer and former film critic Phillip Adams; and husband-and-wife writer/producer/director team Nadia Tass and David Parker, whose film Malcolm was a major comedy success, and who are interviewed in Broken Hill while filming their follow-up movie Ricky and Pete.
