The Screen Guide

Cashmere, which comes from goats, is the softest and most valuable animal fibre on earth. Until recently, world production was dominated by China, but now it has been discovered in Australia, and it is estimated that 70 percent of our three to five million feral goats are growing cashmere. Textile designer Fred Moylan was the first to realise the significance of this discovery, and his efforts have resulted in a market for ten million Australian animals.
