The Screen Guide

In 1930-31 the British Arctic Air Route Expedition (BAARE) set out to investigate the possibility of an air route to North America via Iceland and Greenland. Plans to fly across the Greenland icecap were abandoned after their Gypsy Moth aircraft suffered considerable damage. They then set out on a gruelling and remarkable overland expedition negotiating rapids, lakes and fjords between the icecap and the sea. This program documents the incredible journey of three adventurers as they retrace the steps of the 1930-31 expedition across the icy labyrinth that is Greenland.
