The Screen Guide

The Mallee is a hot semi-desert region of scrub and farmland in the extreme north west of the Australian state of Victoria. The region is best known for its dust storms, mice plagues and beautiful sunsets. LIFE AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW explores life for this remote farming town of five hundred living on the edge of The Big Desert. 1940s home movies from Rainbow families, juxtaposed with their life now creates a fascinating and intimate insight into the workings of this small rural community.
