The Screen Guide

LIFE FORMS tells the story of 14-year-old Emily and her mother Mel who live in a large rambling house in country Victoria. The story takes place over a year of changes in their lives. Emily's father Gerard is often absent on working trips so the two women are very much left to their own devices. When Gerard begins to stay away longer, Mel becomes moody and nervous. Then a car swerving to miss a dog changes their lives forever.
