The Screen Guide

Ugar is one of the smallest inhabited islands of the Torres Strait. The documentary looks at the circumstances of the Kennell family who had left their island during the mid-1950s after a collapse in the local Trochus Shell industry. Now that Native Title is being established in the Torres Strait, they have rallied their family, spanning four generations, to reclaim their land on the island and fulfilling the wishes of their elders to return to their island home before they die. Part of ICAM series.
