The Screen Guide

The pursuit of the earth's largest creatures for profit is a drama of tragic proportions. It is a history that embodies bravery and resourcefulness beyond belief as well as brutality and greed. But mankind has, for the most part, realised that there is much more value in whales as an object of science rather than financial gain. In this film Richard Morecroft examines the historical impact of whaling and looks at recent developments including poaching and the establishment of the southern ocean whaling reserve.
