Henry Thong

Documentary filmmaker Henry Thong has produced dozens of short films that have been screened and awarded at film festivals in America, Australia, Europe and Africa. As a passionate documentarian, Henry believes that the world is an interesting enough place without having to create new ones. He found his calling in high school when his short films were screened and awarded at the ATOM Awards, BUFTA Awards, and Melbourne International Film Festival. After school, Henry honed in on his passion for documentary filmmaking and produced Content Censored, which opened the Oscar-qualifying St Kilda Film Festival in 2016. Today, he focuses his lens on telling the stories of artists and singers, and has worked with numerous noteworthy creators including Ronny Chieng, Laufey, Lauren Lovette and Poh Ling Yeow. His original documentary web-series Makers Who Inspire has amassed nearly 2 million views, and been screened and awarded at Fashion Film Festival Milano, the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, and Dance on Camera at Lincoln Center in New York City. His documentary about singer Tiffany Day’s Gratitude Tour was screened and awarded the People’s Choice Award at the 27th annual Vancouver Film Festival.
