Online advertising expenditure, 2002–2007

A total of $1,346 million was spent on online advertising in the Australian marketplace in 2007, an increase of 34 per cent on 2006. The ‘search and directories’ category achieved the strongest growth, up by 56 per cent, from $339 million in 2006 to $622 million in 2007. Total advertising expenditure has risen by 271 per cent in only four years.
