Screen currency 2025: Request for Proposals
Screen Australia is seeking to measure the economic, social and cultural value of Australian screen and games production: what it does for Australians, from our identities to our economy.
From 3 July, 2025 we invite proposals for research exploring audience behaviours and perceptions, program impacts, the dynamics of contemporary screen and games businesses and economic contribution.
Due to the wide scope, complexity and ambition of this research, Screen Australia anticipates that an innovative, cross-disciplinary approach will be required to bring together the interrelated research questions, data and insights. To address the requirements of the brief, we anticipate that the Screen Currency 2025 research project will engage several highly collaborative research teams.
Screen Australia is encouraging robust proposals addressing one or several elements of the identified research areas from suitably qualified teams from relevant fields of expertise, including: research agencies, academic research centres and organisations with expertise in data management and analysis.
This research updates and extends upon 2016’s Screen Currency, acknowledging the many changes in screen and games engagement, production and distribution in the intervening decade.
The Screen Currency Request for Proposals (RFP) and accompanying Screen Currency Discussion Paper are attached in the sidebar to the right.
Proposals are due 15 August 2025.
