Talent Development

JUNE 2018

Sydney-based actor, producer and diversity advisor Bali Padda has secured a 3 month part time placement at Jungle Entertainment (No Activity, Mr Inbetween). Over this period Bali will be working alongside Jungle’s development manager, Shay Spencer (Picnic at Hanging Rock) across their slate of projects.

Director and writer Fatima Mawas will carry out a development placement shadowing the Matchbox Pictures (Glitch, Seven Types of Ambiguity, Safe Harbourteam on a​new miniseriesMore specifically, Fatima will have the opportunity to be mentored by producer Sheila Jayadev (Ali’s Wedding) as the team develop the first stage of a new​ 8 x 60 minute series. 

Producer and director Ana Tiwary has been selected to spend 3 months at See-Saw Films (Lion, Top Of The Lake, The King’s Speech) undertaking a producer’s attachment. This opportunity will allow Ana to move into feature drama development, gaining an understanding of See-Saw’s development processes, including mentorship sessions with Emile Sherman (Managing Director), Rachel Gardner (Producer), Libby Sharpe (Head of Production) and Rebecca Hardman (Business Affairs).

APRIL 2018

Candice Bowers has secured a four month part-time placement with Arenamedia (The Slap, The Warriors, Paper Planes) in Sydney and Melbourne. Candy will a take on a combination of face-to-face and remote work on the Arenamedia development slate, being mentored by the company Principal Robert Connolly and Head of Development Louise Gough.

FEBRUARY 2018

Gary Abrahams has secured a placement with Matchbox Pictures under the mentorship of producer Tony Ayres (Glitch, The Slap, The Family Law). Gary will work and shadow across development, pre-production and production of a commissioned work in 2018.

November 2017

Anthea Williams will undertake a six month part-time placement with Causeway Films (The Babadook, Cargo, Buoyancy) in Sydney. Working closely with producers Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton, Anthea will be focussed on the company's current development slate.

Fiona Tuomy will be placed with Film Art Media (Sue Maslin - The Dressmaker, Japanese Story) and Seymour Films (Charlotte Seymour - Other People's Problems). Based in Melbourne Fiona will work in development focussing on a number of fiction and factual projects across the slate of both companies, as well as her own projects.

Santilla Chingaipe has secured a three month placement at ArenaMedia (Paper Planes, The Warriors, Barracuda) in Melbourne. Working with Robert Connolly and other key staff across their development and production slate, Santilla will also receive support and mentorship on her own projects during the placement.

WA-based Mala Sujan will be placed at the newly formed Easy Tiger Productions in Sydney under the mentorship of highly experienced producer Ian Collie (Doctor Doctor, Jack Irish, Rake). The opportunity allows Mala to upskill in her area of interest - creative producing and developing scripted content across platforms.

August 2017

Further to her participation in Screen Australia’s Developing the Developer, Jenevieve Chang has secured two placements in development. She will work with senior executives in Arclight and Felix Media, both located in Sydney.
