Preservation
Daphne is certain love has passed her by. Buoyed only by messages from her dead father via a spiritualist photographer with ulterior motives, her heart is shrinking. She runs a failing taxidermy business alone, in the Depression of 1890s Sydney. To make ends meet she advertises for a boarder. A stranger arrives – a quiet travel-stained man, who's lost his farm in the drought. Nick has his own dark past, slowly deadening him to life and all its possibilities. As Nick and Daphne's secrets unravel under the gaze of dead animals, a tenuous, fragile love grows for two people who thought themselves lost to love.
