The Screen Guide

The story of the Brisbane floods of 1974 . It is the story of the Reverend Tom Wood, who ran a flood relief centre in the badly-affected Goodna area. The program highlights the Hancock family, whose house was totally destroyed, but still had to be paid for; the Donchak family, who were flooded at Chelmer, where they were living, at Yeronga where they were building a house, and at Rocklea where their furniture business was devastated; and 79-year-old Mrs. Elliott, whose house at Fairfield was flooded. Tales of flood rescue are recalled by Warrant Officer Fred Brown.
