The Screen Guide

In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the unique abilities of 'gifted' children. But are they at risk? There is real concern that gifted children are not receiving the kind of education that will allow them to fully develop their gifts. Doctor Eddie Braggert, of Newcastle University, discusses the shortcomings of the current education system in relation to gifted children. The episode also profiles gifted ten-year-old Terry Thao, who has an IQ of 230 and is studying second-year physics at Adelaide's Flinders University.
