The Screen Guide

An historical series that tracks the 'descent from innocence' of United States foreign policy from its isolationist and idealistic stance prior to World War II to its disastrous self-appointed role as world policeman in Southeast Asia in the 1960s and '70s. This journey is seen against the backdrop of the disintegration of worldwide colonial empires and the impact of Cold War policies and the United Nations on newly-independent countries in Africa and Asia.
