The Screen Guide

Professor Geoffrey Blainey presents his view of Australia, past and present. In this, his first television venture, he takes a journey into Australia's past to explain today by looking at yesterday, exploring not only the major influences and events which have shaped our history, but also the smaller, less obvious changes that have transformed our daily lives. He challenges and questions our accepted views of many turning points in Australian history, from the gold rush to World War II, the Great Depression to the political events of 1975. The series is narrated by Australian show-business legend Graham Kennedy.
