The Screen Guide

Heart of the Queen is the rich and compelling story of country music artist Wanita, and her odyssey to realise her childhood dream: to sing and record in Nashville. Three decades of recklessness have kept her from it. Wanita – a wild, self-diagnosed autistic and eccentric performer – struggles to conform to the mainstream Australian industry. Against the odds, she’s determined to reach the city of country greats: “fuck everything – I’m going to Nashville”. This is Wanita’s overdue date with destiny. Equally hilarious and touching – in the streets, motels and recording studios of Nashville, Wanita will write the climax to her own story. There is a lot riding on this trip.
