The Screen Guide

The story of four women who have struggled to build a life for themselves in the mining town of Newman in the Pilbara. Part 1: Deals with problems of isolation and unemployment faced by women in Newman. Part 2: Tells of the ongoing effects of the bitter 1986 Robe River industrial dispute upon the families in the town of Wickham. Part 3: Explores racism through the eyes of both black and white women and shows their attempts to change local attitudes towards the Aboriginal population.
