The Screen Guide

GOING HOME is the Immigrant’s MCLEOD’S DAUGHTERS. It’s Issa Rae in the world of VIRGIN RIVER. It’s a contemporary drama and ‘vlogumentary’ with lots of humour and heart. It focuses on prodigal daughter Grace Kisakye who returns to her country home town, secretly jobless and just out of a stint in a mental health facility. It’s a time of momentous change. They’re passing on the small farm that has been their livelihood since Grace’s parents arrived as refugees. And they’re saying goodbye to the house where their mum tragically died. Grace is determined to uncover the secrets hidden in her past so that she can understand how her life spiralled out of control, and in the process set herself free.
