A Terrible Beauty

Anna Kojevnikov Producer

Anna Kojevnikov is a keen producer with a diverse range of films under her belt. Having produced 10 short films in a range of genres, Anna looks for compelling tales with dedicated and passionate filmmakers. As the Producer on Russian-language epic Deeper Than Yesterday, she and her team were fortunate to be presented with awards at Sundance and Cannes film festivals, amongst others. In 2011, Anna and Corrie Chen were the recipients of Open Channel and Screen Australia’s RAW Nerve initiative in which the film Bruce Lee Played Badminton Too was conceived. This film later went on to screen as part of SBS’s Shorts on Screen Series in 2013. Following on from the success of her short films, Anna was one of five filmmakers selected to attend Berlinale Talent Campus in 2012. Currently, Anna is in post-production on sci-fi/drama A Terrible Beauty, with Co-producer Sally Storey and Director Sarah-Jane Woulahan. This is one of four films selected, to be made through Screen Australia’s HotShots program. In addition to this, Sally and Anna are in the final production stages of a micro-budget comedy feature, That’s Not Me, with Victorian College of the Arts compadres, Gregory Erdstein and Alice Foulcher.

Sally Storey Producer

Sally Storey’s passion is producing immersive and thought-provoking projects enabling worldwide audiences to embrace Australian stories. Over the past eight years Sally has been working in the creative industry as content producer, production manager and co-ordinator, spanning across augmented reality mobile content, documentary, film and television. Sally has worked in Australia, NYC and across the UK with her work screened on SBS Television, ABC, UKTV, National Geographic, BBC Knowledge, BBC America, Channel 7 and Discovery Channel. Sally has a Degree in Contemporary Art and Graduate Diploma in Film & Television Producing from The Victorian College of the Arts (University of Melbourne, 2009). Sally’s short films have screened at a number of International Film Festivals, such as Melbourne International Film Festival, Melbourne International Animation Festival, Los Angeles and San Diego Children’s Film Festival. Sally, Co-producer Anna Kojevnikov and Director Sarah-Jane Woulahan are currently in post-production on sci-fi short film A Terrible Beauty, which received funding from Screen Australia under the Hot Shots film program. In addition to this, Sally and Anna are in the final production stages of a micro-budget comedy feature, That’s Not Me, with VCA alumni Gregory Erdstein and Alice Foulcher.

Sarah-Jane Woulahan Director

Sarah-Jane Woulahan’s short films Acts of God, I love Like Blood, The Irving Hand Prophecy, Ward of State and Stanley Ovation P.I. have screened at festivals South By Southwest, Melbourne International Film Festival, Brisbane International Film Festival, Warsaw Film Festival, Flickerfest, St Kilda Film Festival and many more. Acts of God was chosen for the MIFF Accelerator program for emerging feature filmmakers in 2014 and Ward of State won best film at the 2015 Australian Dance Awards. She has just completed the science fiction short, A Terrible Beauty, funded by the Screen Australia Hotshots program. Sarah-Jane has directed ARIA and MTV nominated music videos for Australia’s most recognised musicians including Silverchair, Missy Higgins, Evermore, The Sleepy Jackson, Claire Bowditch, Tim Finn and The Living End. Sarah-Jane is a cross-media auteur and pioneer. She has created numerous multi-platform projects that integrate film, live performance and online interaction in genres that straddle narrative, documentary and comedy. Her comedy series, Forlorn Gaze was nominated for an AFI award for Innovation. Sarah-Jane is a represented Director at Airbag for commercial production. She is currently developing feature film projects including feminist drama She Loves Like Blood and the dark, sci-fi, love story A Terrible Beauty.
