Exposure draft of Producer Offset documentary definition

The Department of the Treasury has released an exposure draft of legislation which would introduce definitions of 'documentary' and related terms into Division 376 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

The draft legislation, if enacted, would impact on the Producer, Location and PDV Offsets and follows the Government’s media release of 5 July 2012.

The draft legislation, draft Explanatory Memorandum and further information on the consultation process is available from the Treasury website.

Treasury will receive comments on the draft legislation until 30 January 2013.

Please note that the legislation and consultation on it is under the authority of Treasury, and not Screen Australia. All comments on the draft legislation should therefore be addressed to Treasury.
