ABOUT US

Screen Australia’s Strategic Policy & Insights (SPI) unit collects data and information on screen production and consumption in Australia; and undertakes rigorous analysis to highlight industry trends and the effect of programs and policies on the sector.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an experienced professional who will be responsible for the development, implementation and project management of Screen Australia’s research priorities. Leading a small team of researchers and analysts, the Senior Manager will deliver research and data driven insights for Screen Australia and the Industry; ensuring that work is communicated in a simple, timely and engaging way. The role will work to extract and manipulate complex data sets from multiple sources with a sharp focus on audience consumption and demand, production levels, economic and cultural value and employment trends.

About you

  • Experience in leading a small team, to deliver on complex research projects
  • A demonstrated passion for research with 4+ years’ experience as a research manager ideally within media or similar industry
  • Proficient skills in the use of statistical software or programming languages
  • Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving abilities with an ability to generate appropriate and imaginative solutions
  • Experience working with various internal databases, analysing raw data, creating reports in addition to presenting and sharing results to various stakeholders
  • Very strong PowerPoint and Excel skills and experience working with visualisation and dashboard tools such as Power BI or Tableau
