Busan Film Festival selector in Australia in July

Screen Australia will host a visit by Jay Jeon, Deputy Director of the Busan International Film Festival (previously known as the Pusan IFF), who will be viewing new Australian feature films in July.

BIFF is one of the largest film festivals in Asia with an audience of more than 182,000 in 2010. It is also home to the Asian Film Market, a key market for international film business, last year hosting 108 companies.

In 2010, six Australian features and one short screened in the Flash Forward, World Cinema, Midnight Passion and Wide Angle programs.

Flash Forward carries a prize of US$20,000 specifically for world premieres of first or second features by non-Asian filmmakers.

If you would like Jay to view your film it needs to meet the festival’s criteria, eg it must have been finished after October 2010 – see the BIFF Submission Guide.

BIFF will run 6 - 14 October 2011.

Please contact Dale Fairbairn, Marketing Manager Industry Support, by Wednesday 13 July to arrange this opportunity for your film.
