Dr. Akkadia Ford holds a PhD in Cultural Studies and works in interdisciplinary capacities in Screen Cultures: as a film consultant on issues of gender, sexualities and queer culture, as a scholar, filmmaker and lecturer; in broadcast television as a seasonal Classification Officer and previously as a film Festival Director (Queer Fruits Film Festival 2009–2012). Akkadia has worked in a range of creative (screenwriting) and production (development) capacities. Akkadia is the author of the groundbreaking book: Trans New Wave Cinema (Under Contract, to be published in 2021), Routledge, Advances in Film Studies Series, UK.
