Matt Richards is an Australian director working across narrative fiction, documentaries, and branded content. A Master of Film & Television (Narrative) graduate from VCA, his shorts ‘First Contact’, ‘Rabbit’, and ‘The Disappearance of Willie Bingham’ screened at 100+ festivals, winning 50+ awards and reaching millions online. Selected for the ADG ‘Ones To Watch’ program, he pitched at MIFF’s 37ºSouth Market and completed Film Victoria placements on Netflix’s ‘Clickbait’ and ABC’s ‘Tomorrow When the War Began’. From 2014–2025, he produced NGV documentaries profiling artists including Ai Weiwei, KAWS, Yayoi Kusama, and Jean Paul Gaultier.
