The Screen Guide

Archie Roach is a victim of theft. Stolen from his family by welfare authorities at the age of three, he was sent through a system of institutions and foster homes where all knowledge of his true family was obliterated in the name of assimilation. This program profiles the pain and triumph of this noted multi-award winning Aboriginal singer/songwriter and his tortured search for expression of his identity and culture. His music provides testimony to the problems, the pain, the heartache and the troubles of his people. Part of Blackout series.
