The Screen Guide

White Australia celebrated its 200th birthday in 1988. The occupation has lasted for 10 generations. But Australia's Aborigines have occupied the land for 2,000 generations, more than 40,000 years. The six films in BLACK FUTURES are not a passive observation. They aim to make an argument in words and pictures to open public debate and to challenge assumptions about the value of Aboriginal culture to the wider Australian community.
