The Screen Guide

A successful executive for a mining company that never likes to lose unfortunately loses his daughter to a terminal disease. Working extra hard in hopes he could save his daughter he is face to face with the defeat which forces him to venture out to his estranged father. When he drives out of the city and through the country, he abruptly pulls the car over and takes a moment to breath. His eyes start to swell but he quickly self-regulates before getting back into the car and driving off. Once with his father, he struggles to come to terms with the loss of his daughter, going through the experience trying to piece together what went wrong. His father, not too sure how to interact with his son, tries to soften the blow of the dead granddaughter by referring to the “way of life”. Not believing in hope or fate and more focussed on hard work and determination, he disagrees with his father sparking a feud the two have had for years and bringing it up to the surface. After going at each other back and forth, disagreeing with each other, the father manages to apologise. This leaves our hero vulnerable which then forces him to break down and eventually grieve. In doing this, the two forgive each other thus earning an embrace the two haven't had for years. As humans we tend to feel we are alone, but at the end of the day we aren’t. We will always have family there to help guide us.
