The Screen Guide

In 1994, an underground crypt was discovered in the Hungarian town of Vac. Forgotten for centuries, it contained ornately decorated coffins containing more than 200 fantastically preserved bodies. Clothes, hair, nails and skin remained intact. It was an extraordinary find, but it's the way these Hungarian mummies are helping to save lives that is attracting international attention. They have become the focus of a project to defeat tuberculosis. We follow surgeon turned archaeologist Professor Mark Spigelman on his quest for a cure and the amazing sequence of events that brought Mark and the mummies together.
