The Screen Guide

Every month in the Kimberley’s, traditional punishment takes place within Aboriginal communities. Aboriginal elders carry out their roles as protectors of their culture by implementing traditional methods of punishment. The elders from these communities explain that traditional lore is vital if Aboriginal culture is to survive the 21st Century. This documentary evolves around how the elders deal with trying to get their leadership and lore recognised by the English Common Law System. From the Message Stick series.
