The Screen Guide

Jack returns to Naretha, on the Nullarbor Plain, where his father worked as a fettler on the trans-continental railway. During the Depression years of the 1930s, Jack's family was among those who found their last hope in the desert, maintaining the railway. Jack and Bob Plasto travel to Naretha on the Trans-Continental, the train that once provided a living for Jack's family.
