Victoria, 1843. Just released from Van Diemen’s Land, a young ex-convict, Settler, assists an opportunistic land surveyor, King, on a paid expedition through unexplored bushland. Together, the ill-suited duo navigate and map the foreign landscape, until Settler unexpectedly encounters a lone Aboriginal man, Budja, confronting him with a hard truth: this frontier is someone else’s home.
