The Screen Guide

Thea Astley takes us on a journey to see it all: the loneliness in aging, and subordination of women and blacks, the tyranny of religion, patriarchy and sexual repression. HUNTING THE WILD PINEAPPLE searches for perspective and depth in two-dimensional representations and picture postcard kitsch. It's a film about the woman, her dreams, her work as a satirist - and it's a film about the battle for acceptance of women satirists in general.
